For years I’ve written brief, topical works: short stories, opinion pieces, how-to guides, and reviews. They’ve been published in a hodgepodge of holes dug across the digital landscape: emails, blogs, on Medium, via Twitter (X), and Facebook. Most have remain buried in the sludge, though a few have broken out.
The Aisle
You will soon find the best of these stories and new ones in a curated Substack and monthly email letter, both called The Aisle. My goal is to give people brief works that help them frame the complexities of our world, adopt strategies to thrive in the complexities, and to enjoy a chuckle that makes their day better.
Over the next few months much of the content will focus on the challenges family face on the troubled seas at the edge of life. People typically call this “preparing an estate.” They think of writing wills, creating a trust, re-filing their deeds, assigning beneficiaries, TOD’s, and DOD’s. These things are all a part of the process, but there is so much more.
Estate, the novel
Estate is a slow-burn tale about how people get the estate process so wrong. Estates should empower the next generation, not hamstring it.
In August, the novel Estate arrives as an eBook on Amazon and free on Kindle Unlimited for 90 days. The paperback and audiobook will be released in September.
Coming in winter 2026, Estate: The Golden Rules will tackle even more specifics.
